One Night, Three Swims: Our Family Stay at Sono Felice Village Vivaldi Park
We stayed for one night and went to the pool three times: after unpacking, again after dinner, and once more after checking out. That was our July 8–9, 2021 trip to Sono Felice Village Vivaldi Park with my parents and nephew Taeyeon. If you are planning a pool break with children, here is what worked for us—from asking for a room close to the water to keeping dinner simple.

Our overnight trip at a glance
- Dates: July 8–9, 2021, one night and two days.
- Family: our family, my parents and my nephew Taeyeon. Our daughters Hyesom and Bokyeong were much smaller then.
- Stay: Sono Felice Village Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province.
- Booking: an unlimited-entry infinity pool package sold at the time.
- Meals: cooked meat from a butcher counter in Vivaldi Park’s basement mart for dinner, followed by resort breakfast the next morning.
Re-entry and swimming after checkout were benefits of our 2021 package. The short 2026 planning section below explains what to check when booking now.

Unlimited pool entry sounded rather good
The days were getting hotter, and I wanted to take the children swimming. Then I came across an infinity pool package with unlimited entry. We decided to go with my parents and Taeyeon, and a fairly sudden overnight holiday took shape.
What caught my attention was being able to leave and come back. I had been thinking of the sort of ticket where leaving means you are finished for the day. With this package, we could return during the permitted hours. We could eat in our room, have a rest and go down again. That sounded useful with children.
A room just above the pool, please
At check-in, I asked for a room with the infinity pool directly below it. Swimming was the main plan, so I wanted the trips between our room and the water to be easy. Fortunately, we were allocated a room in that position.
There was blue water below and green hills beyond it. Looking at the photographs now, I notice the enormous clouds as well. We did not spend long admiring the view before heading down, though. We unpacked, changed and went straight to the pool.

My parents and Taeyeon joined us in the water, and we took some family pictures there. In the photos, the adults are gathered around the children and their swim rings. It is lovely seeing how small the girls were then.
Dinner without packing a kitchen
Because we had arranged the trip at short notice, I wanted to keep our luggage light. For one night away, bringing lots of food and cooking equipment felt like more preparation than we needed.
At the time, the mart in Vivaldi Park’s basement had a butcher counter selling cooked meat to take away. We bought dinner there and ate in our room in the late afternoon. It fitted our plan well: we had a meal together without having to bring the ingredients and cook the meat ourselves.
After dinner, we rested in the room for a while. On many pool outings, that would have been the end of the swimming. This time, we could go back.
Dinner, a rest, and back into the water
So back we went. We were certainly making use of that package. Once it was dark and the lights were on, the same pool looked quite different. Lights reflected on the water, and the buildings in the distance were illuminated too.

One of the night photos shows me standing beside both girls and their blue rings. Coming down again after a break, and spending that evening in the water together, is the part of this trip I remember most clearly.

We stayed until closing time. That was plenty of swimming for the first day, surely. But there was still the next morning.
Checked out, but not going home just yet
The following morning, we had breakfast and checked out. Before heading home, we went swimming again. Our package allowed pool use after checkout, so we fitted in one final visit.

Swimming after unpacking, swimming after dinner, and swimming after handing back the room. Written down like that, our itinerary looks wonderfully repetitive. We did not go sightseeing elsewhere. We spent our time in the water together, and then went home.
What I would pack for another trip like this
Keeping our bags light and taking a proper break in the room worked well for us. With both grandparents and children along, I would pay attention to how easily everyone can get back for a rest.
- Pack swimsuits, hats and water shoes together, with a separate bag for wet clothes.
- Bring dry towels and spare clothes if you plan to swim more than once. Leave time to dry off and have a drink between sessions.
- Plan for the sun and changing weather at an outdoor pool. Stay close to children, even when they are using swim rings.
- For a post-checkout swim, ask about luggage storage, showers and changing rooms. Keep the clothes for the journey home easy to reach.

A few questions you might have
Could you leave the pool and come back?
Yes, with our unlimited-entry package in 2021. We ate dinner and rested in our room before returning. Check the re-entry terms of the ticket you are buying now.
Did you swim after checkout?
We did. Our package allowed it, so we had another swim after breakfast and checkout. Confirm which days and times your own booking covers.
Was one night enough with children and grandparents?
For a trip focused on swimming, it worked well for us. A room close to the pool and simple meals left us plenty of time in the water.
A photo album full of swimming

Looking through these pictures, almost every one is a pool photo. My parents, Taeyeon and the girls are all there in the water. It was only one night away, but we have both daytime and evening pictures to remember it by.
I am glad I spotted that package and booked it. We managed quite a lot of swimming in two days. If we go again, I will pack plenty of dry clothes and look forward to another turn in the water with the children.
